Differin Gel should be used once daily as part of your morning or evening skin care routine. For best results, first wash skin with a gentle, non-drying cleanser such as Differin Gentle Cleanser. Pat skin dry, then apply a thin layer of Differin Gel. As Differin Gel is not used in the same way as a spot treatment, it should be applied to the entire face, once daily. To help maintain hydrated skin, use a moisturizer like Differin Soothing Moisturizer after each application. Use of a moisturizer may help decrease dryness and other signs of irritation.

Virtually every adolescent has a few “spots”, however, about 15% of the adolescent population have sufficient problems to seek treatment . In most patients, but not all, the acne clears up by the late teens or early 20s. More severe acne tends to last longer. A group of patients have persistent acne lasting up to the age of 30 to 40 years, and sometimes beyond. Patients with persistent acne often have a family history of persistent acne. Acne may scar - most of the time this is preventable by using the correct treatment given in a timely fashion.

This chapter is set out as follows:

I’m guessing that by grease you mean sebum. Sebum tend to accumulate on your forehead and nose – correct. Well, is there any acne associated with those areas? If not you can simple lift it off a few times per day with a clean towelette, don’t rub. I you wash it off then it can signal your skin to keep producing more – which compounds the problem. You’ll need to self experiment to see what works for your skin condition. Classifying your skin as “greasy” or “combination” is mostly meaningless by the way. Use your education and knowledge to do your own diagnosis for the different areas on your skin.
